Development of entirely lagrangian meshfree hydroelastic FSI solvers - reliability, adaptivity and generality

Date: 26.11.2020; UTC Time: 9:00 AM- 10:00 AM

This talk focuses on key issues for development of entirely Lagrangian meshfree computational methods for hydroelastic Fluid-Structure Interactions (FSI). These key issues include proper selection of governing equations (in Newtonian and Hamiltonian mechanics), precise satisfaction of interface boundary conditions, consistent extensions for adaptivity (multi computational resolutions) and generality (choice of constitutive equations, composite structures). In this regard, several developed solvers will be also briefly introduced that all incorporate a projection-based fluid model (ISPH or MPS) consistently coupled with a structure model coded either within Newtonian (SPH, MPS) or Hamiltonian (HSPH, HMPS) frameworks. Future perspectives for continuous developments of entirely Lagrangian meshfree hydroelastic FSI solvers will be also highlighted.
