Dr. Rajesh R.Nair currently serves as an Associate Professor of Petroleum Engineering at the Department of Ocean Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
He joined as an Assistant Professor of Petroleum Engineering at the Department of Ocean Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Madras after serving as Assistant Professor at the Department of Geology and Geophysics, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He has also served as a Scientist at the Naval Physical Oceanographic Laboratory of Defense Research and Development Organization, an R&D agency of the Republic of India charged with the Military’s Research and Development.
He holds a PhD. in Geophysics by pursuing research at the National Geophysical Research Institute (CSIR-NGRI), which was awarded by Osmania University. Also, he holds an MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree. He is the 2nd topper of the University of Kerala during his Bachelors. He is the 1st rank holder (gold-medalist) of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) during his Masters in Marine Geophysics.
At IIT Madras, his research is primarily focused on Conventional and Unconventional Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Technologies, their development and implementations.
