Applications of homogenization theory to study the effects of coastal vegetation on waves

In the last decade, the homogenization theory has been adopted to study the interactions of waves and coastal vegetations (see references below). In this talk, the basic idea of homogenization theory will be explained, and the required simplifications will be introduced. Since the problem is formulated based on the linearized Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes equations, the closure for the eddy viscosity will also be discussed.
